Skydiving for Mental Health | GoSkydive

Skydiving. Jumping out of a plane at 10,000ft is not something I normally do on my saturday afternoons but on Saturday 15th August, that is exactly what I did.

I have been raising money for Rethink Mental Health, and I finally blew my target out of the water and raised £700!! I am completely over the moon reaching my target and more, and I am so grateful to everyone who donated or who shared my post and supported this amazing charity!

Even in 2015, Mental health is still taboo and not spoken about, even though it affects so many of us! I wanted to raise money so I could also help raise awareness and get more people thinking and talking about Mental Health.

I personally suffer from Depression, GAD and social anxiety and even though things are looking up for me, I know how hard it is when it’s not so bright. I want everyone to know you are not alone and there is always someone to talk to, who cares and who will listen! Rethink Mental health have over 200 mental health services and over 150 support groups and are always there for anyone who needs it! I also have a post on Anxiety so make sure you have a read if you’re looking for some support or helpful thoughts!

So after raising £700 it hit me, I had to jump out of a plane and let me tell you, it was incredible! I went to GOskydive in Salisbury, who are the UK’s Tandem Specialist and it was such an amazing day. It literally only hit me when I was dangling out of the plane doors, 10,000ft in the air. After that, it was incredible! It felt like I was floating (at 125mph!!!) and I even got to go through a cloud!!! If you are thinking about doing it, I honestly say GO FOR IT!!!! You will not regret it! I am already planning my next one and will definitely be going to 15,000ft!! skydiving skydiving skydiving skydiving skydiving

So enjoy this short video of me, floating in the air! All in the name for Mental Health! ♥

So brave! I think I’d be terrifying going up there but once I did it, I’d love it. Good luck with the next on! Will that be for a charity also or just for fun? x

It literally did not hit me till I was dangling out of the plane door! But as soon as we jumped it was incredible! You really should go for it, the feeling cannot be described! The next one will be just for fun I think, hoping to do it with my mum & sister! xo
